What's the catch?
There is no catch. We really do work on a commission(20%) only basis. It works because we work with thousands of events. The only requirement is that you truly pay us a commission off the same sponsor rate you’d give to a sponsor if they called you directly.
Other companies have tried this, what makes you different?
We believe in providing a valuable service at a fair price to our 2 sets of clients (events and event marketers). That philosophy has been what's kept us the largest event representation firm in the country for over 10 years.
How do you avoid conflicts with our current sponsors?
We merely provide a platform to get your event info in front of our sponsors. If a sponsor shows interest, we work with you to determine the fit, the cost, other sponsor conflicts, etc. We will never bring a sponsor to you without a conversation with you.
How do sponsors find out about The Event Shop?
We invest heavily in ads in Event Marketing trade magazines, in direct mail, in email database marketing and in face to face meetings around the country. Here is an example of an ad we’ve run in the past:
We don't have a big staff, what is the process like to get you our info?
It's very easy, it's an online point and click form. We don't ask for all the details, just the basics. That is enough to get the attention of our sponsors, and if they want more we'll contact you. (click here for a screenshot of the input form) If you have a series of events there is a “duplicate” feature to quickly add new dates. That feature also works if you have the dates finalized for the following year on annual events
What if we already have existing contracts with sponsors?
We can always work out a “grandfather clause” so that you don’t pay us commissions on recent sponsors.
Our organizational structure does not allow us to do commission deals, but we still want to work with you. Can we?
Absolutely! Due to ownership structure or bylaws, we understand that some events are not able to work on a commission basis, but still want to reach sponsors. For those events, affordable options are available.
Do you offer other services to events?
